Nokia 8.1 Review

Well the wait is over as HMD Global has made the global version of NOKIA X7, the new NOKIA 8.1 .Like all the previous NOKIA phones, this phone is also under the "PREMIUM" category with its enchanting Glass back and dual tone metallic frame. Even though it has the "LOOKS" of a NOKIA phone like its predecessors with design, it is quite sturdy but obviously a bit slippery and most importantly a notch on the bigger side. Nokia launched 12 phones in 2018 and even then they focused on quality rather than quantity. The highly appealing thing about the NOKIA 8.1 is the PUREDISPLAY with HDR10 support which will upscale normal HD quality videos to HDR like quality with really good color accuracy. While the NOKIA sirroco is targeted as a "Flagship", 8.1 falls under the category of something in between a flagship and a mid-range.

Moving on to what's under the hood, the Snapdragon 710 processor is a processor that hasn't really taken off even its been in existence for quite a while but surprisingly it’s a fairly good mid-range processor. Comparing the benchmark scores with Snapdragon 660 & 636, the 710 is the definite winner with a whopping 5902 Multicore score and 1844 single core score. When it comes to real world performance it is so smooth in multitasking and gaming and has no issues of notable lags. The good performance to the 8.1 is mainly contributed with the pure experience of "Android One". Nokia 8.1 is no different in that sense as it is an Android One phone that runs on the latest OS and has no unwanted apps or what we refer to as bloatwares.
