A universal satellite head (or LNB) is the receiving device mounted on satellite dishes used for satellite television reception, which collects radio waves from the antenna. The LNB draws its power from the receiver or set-top box inside the house. This phantom power is sent “” down the same coaxial cable that carries the received “DOWN” signals for the receiver, eliminating the need for a separate power cable.
